to Design Their Own Destiny
WHAT FYFF CREATES . . .
We began in 2009, with the fundamental purpose of this educational social organization was to teach principals of garment construction, design and merchandising to young people. As well as address the growing concern of today’s rural youth in regards to higher education, self-esteem, health and career goals.
Through the years, we've discovered in our classes, youngsters learn from various avenues of inspiration. While FYFF's main focus is the fashion industry, we like to think of it as the "jumping off point". Our goal is to supply our local youth through education and guidance, the skills necessary to obtain admittance, scholarships and fulfilling jobs within the Fashion World, Media (television, music and movies industry) and/or The Arts (graphic design, web, theater, performance and exhibition).
Normally, we offer free programs to girls and boys aged 10 through 19. We also work in conjunction with other non-profit organizations which help and support all residents in our local rural areas.
We offer an accepting and nurturing environment where kids build character and skills for success in the real world. In partnership with committed adult volunteers, teenagers develop qualities that will serve them throughout their entire lives; skills like leadership, strong values, social conscience, and more importantly, conviction about their own potential and self-worth.
Our concentration is in the world of Design, primarily Fashion (Textile Science, Apparel Design and Merchandising), Portfolio Design, Photography, Internet, Media, Theater, Music and Scholarships. through The Arts. FYFF produce teenagers who possess specific talents along with courage, confidence, and character; who in turn make our community, state and world a richer, more vibrant place. Driven by the new realities of our ever-changing world. FYFF strives to meet the needs and challenges of teenagers of today and beyond.
FYFF members discover, by way of fun and friendship (and through the power of teenagers working together), a multitude of enriching experiences, such as field trips, designs and construction classes, community service projects, retail apprenticeships and cultural exchanges. Our teenagers grow courageous and strong.
FYFF helps teenagers develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect developing values that will guide their actions and provide a solid foundation for sound decision-making which will in turn contribute to the improvement of our society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others.
